Aad van der Velde is pianist, oboïst and conductor. He studied piano at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Debora Land and oboe with Carlo Ravelli. His activities as orchestral musician and accompanist of choirs, took him to conducting. At the Rotterdam Conservatory he studied orchestral conducting with Arie van Beek. At present Aad accompanies soloists, and conducts several choirs and orchestras, one of them the Gouds Symfonieorkest.

Anke van der Bijl is graduate of the Utrecht Conservatory. She continued her flute studies with Abby de Quant and attended masterclasses with Peter Lukas Graf, Geoffrey Gilbert, Wissam Boustany and Andras Adorjan. Anke completed her Suzuki Flute studies at the British Suzuki Institute in London with a practicum at the Colorado Suzuki Institute in Aspen, USA and a Post Graduate with Toshio Takahashi at theTalent Education Research Institute in Matsumoto, Japan. In Switzerland and Italy she took courses in Suzuki Early Childhood Education and Children's Music Lab. She gives lectures and workshops for music teachers in various European countries and has conducted Suzuki Flute teacher training courses in the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Russia and Spain.

As flute/piano duo, Aad van der Velde and Anke van der Bijl have developed a varied repertoire with works by Bach, Blavet, Mozart, Schubert, Reinecke, Poulenc, Gaubert, Fauré, Hindemith and Prokofiev. They perform in regular concerts, private house concerts, in church services, and at exhibitions.
